Then factor in the hard cost of Gtechniq to Cancoat which some have said required two cans of the aerosol version per car for two coats multiplied by 3 to 5 years vs Gtechniq’s one time expense. No comparison! Gtechniq the better value by far. Although paint correction on a fully decontaminated surface is the main course in approving the aesthetics of your paint, I have noticed an amplification in the look of the paint after using CanCoat. Gyeon CanCoat has the ‘glass like gloss’ look a coating provides as seen below with this Audi RS5. Gyeon Wet Coat is a “spray and rinse sealant”. You can apply the product according to the following instructions: Method 1 I used CSL topped w/ C2V3 on a vehicle, applied January 2017 and it was among the poorest at self cleaning among the many coatings I have tried; it rained, it needed washing. The base CSL significantly improved in this area after a month or two, likely when the C2V3 application wore off. After 8 months and 20k+ miles, the CSL was doing alright but CSL alone is not really noted for its extensively entertaining water behavior so I was looking for something to maintain the richness of the base CSL look (which I liked) but wanted something a bit more long lasting than a standard topper/booster to improve the self cleaning/hydrophobic behavior….so I topped it with a layer of CanCoat, which totally transformed the performance of the CSL in a definitely positive manner. The CanCoat added a bit of pleasing to me candy-gloss pop to the CSL and CanCoat has great hydrophobic/self-cleaning characteristics which it lent to the overall performance of the vehicle. However, after a drive in the wet a couple of days later, the rear of the car was just as dirty as ever and although there was beading, a lot of those beads later dried to leave horrible, dirty, water spots. Leaving the car out in the rain a few days later and the beads were still there but again they later dried to dirty water spots.

Gyeonhave rapidly grown to be amongst the leading manufacturer of detailing products available in the UK, offering a range of premium quality products thoroughly tested to satisfy the needs of car detailing enthusiasts, as well as the exacting requirements of professionals.Gyeon offer a comprehensive series of advanced quartz-based products offering outstanding surface protection. The Gyeon Q² range includes high-tech ceramic coatings for both enthusiasts and professional detailers, making this all in,a uncompromised range of detailing and car care products.I recently wrote my review on the new Gyeon Pure Evo coating which can be found here https://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=429437 Outdoor Friendly. Meaning it can be applied outside but not in direct sun and avoid wet wet weather for the first 24 hours as it will affect the cure time (ie dew, rain). This will be a big hit for those that don't have access to a garage as it applies to all of the Gyeon coatings. One thing mentioned in the included maintenance book, is to apply Gyeon Cure as a precaution if planning to leave it outside. Application. Can not be simpler. Spray on the MF towel and wipe on the surface like using a QD, turn the towel to a dry side and remove immediately. Work in the shade. One bad thing IMO is that it does not leave a trace behind (if it does its not very noticible) so without proper lighting you can not tell where you applied it on the surface. Its like layering an invisible layer. You can layer it as much as you want as long as its 1h apart. I had CanCoat last 15 months on a vehicle that was polished with Gyeon Primer Polished and maintained every now and then with Cure. I consider this a triple threat that just performs well. Problems I noticed. It clogges the sprayer so I suggest you rinse the sprayer after every use and after every layering. Heat up some water (or use APC or paint prep product) and pour it in a cup or a plastic cup and use that to remove product from the sprayer head. This will help but some dry product may still be left behind to clogg the sprayer head.

Of course you can use Bathe+ in place of a topper in the above cycle, however it's not going to give you the look, durability or performance of a dedicated product like Cure. I’ve discovered that Can Coat is a bit of a unique product. In my opinion, it falls somewhere between the two categories. Can coat claims to provide many of the benefits of a true coating such as strong protection against chemicals, environmental contaminants, and UV rays, however it does not offer the same durability that most coatings can provide. Can Coat is like a more potent version of a spray sealant such as Gyeon Cure, but a less potent version of a coating like Gyeon Mohs. Can Coat may be applied on top of an existing coating or as a stand alone layer of protection. We are the UK distributors for GYEON Quartz, who are a formulator and manufacturer of advanced, quartz based protection and maintenance products. Constantly topping isn't going to 'harm' anything, but at the same time regular use of any chemical resistant product without having fully decontaminated the car is going to sandwich in road film, tar, iron etc. that isn't an opinion, it's just fact. If you look at it objectively, it makes little sense to use a QD that lasts 6 weeks, weekly.. your LSP is now Ceramic Detailer, which is inferior to Cancoat in pretty much every way.Gyeon's CanCoat EVO offers more durable performance, improved visual enhancement, and hydrophobic properties - all thanks to the updated EVO formula. It remains as easy to apply as it used to, now featuring even easier wipe off.

As a first foray into ceramic coatings, I thought I would try applying Gyeon Can Coat to my 6 year old car. You should apply Gyeon Q² CanCoat EVO in a dry place out of direct sunlight. In all cases, prepare the surfaces you are going to treat in the normal way (wash > decontaminate > polish), and then do a wipe down with Gyeon Q²M Prep to ensure that they are spotlessly clean. For best results, spray Gyeon Q² CanCoat on to either the supplied microfibre towel or a PB Super Buffing Towel and immediately wipe it over a single panel to spread a thin, even film of product. Then refold the towel and continue buffing to fully remove the film and reveal an intense streak-free shine. Alternatively, mist a Meguiar's Even Coat Microfiber Applicator Pad with Gyeon Q² CanCoat EVO and wipe a thin, even film of product over a single panel at a time before buffing off with either the supplied microfibre towel or a PB Super Buffing Towel. Either way, you should aim to complete all of the buffing off within 1-2 minutes, i.e. before the coating begins to harden. Was I expecting too much from the claims of self-cleaning/beading and this is normal for ceramic coatings or did I do something wrong? It still retains that versatility while making for an excellent choice for a maintenance topper a year down the road on a coating. It works with any coating.

If we are discussing merely a business willfully misrepresenting its offering, this would be a different discussion. I do not believe I have done that in this article. I have not been coy about bringing up those issues either in other articles. I can say I have used Gyeon CanCoat on clients’ vehicles. I have never charged the same rate for this protection as I would for the 18 month to 2 year offerings or other offerings at that time. There is definitely a very wide gap in the price for my 3 year and 5 year warrentied ceramic coating offerings. The original Q2 Cancoat was an absurdly easy way to protect paint and trim for up to 6 months (although we were able to get 9 months of protection in our testing). So for the next generation of absurdly easy to apply paint and trim protection, Gyeon Q2 Cancoat EVO offers double the lifespan of the original Cancoat: up to 12 months or 12 thousand kilometers of protection. Cancoat EVO's application process couldn't be easier: just apply it using the included microfiber towel, and wipe away the residue until your paint is looking its best for up to one full year. I used the paint cleanser then machine polish and then paint cleanser again followed with a diluted IPA wipe down > then can coat It is extremely important to ensure the vehicle is thoroughly cleaned. A proper car wash should be done at the very least. Use Gyeon Prep to ensure the surface is free of any oils and be certain that everything is completely dry before applying Can Coat. The paint should be cool to the touch prior to application. Do not work in direct sunlight.
